This project stands at the intersection of digital fabrication and ceramic craftsmanship, embracing the tensions between precision and unpredictability. Drawing on David Pye’s notions of “workmanship of risk” and “workmanship of certainty,” it explores how material properties and robotic parameters influence the piece's final form. Utilizing Grasshopper to control robotic extrusion, the work tests the bounds of modular ceramic design for contemporary architectural applications. While early tests were highly imperfect, this endeavor marks the start of my pursuit of other modes of creating, through which I hope to contribute to the role of ceramics within architectural innovation and continue to comprehend the breadth of digital fabrication.
